Ensuring Tenant’s Deposits are administered correctly

In England it is a legal requirement from 1st April 2019 that all letting agents and property management companies to be a member of an approved Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme. In Scotland, the legal requirement was in force from 31st January 2018 and in Wales from 23rd November 2015. There are substantial penalties for non-compliance.

This scheme has been developed to ensure that deposits held by reputable Agents are protected, and that disputes about their return are resolved swiftly, inexpensively and impartially.
